Turn every camera install into recurring revenue
Your clients keep asking to see their cameras on their website. OctoStream makes that a service you can sell: the RTSP cameras you already install become embeddable live players — with recording, timelapse, scheduling, and restreaming built in. No extra hardware.
Why installers partner with OctoStream
Recurring revenue per install
Live streaming is a monthly service, not a one-off. Bundle it into your maintenance plan or resell it as its own line item — every camera you connect keeps paying you.
No extra hardware or software
OctoStream pulls the RTSP feed straight from the cameras, DVRs, and NVRs you already install. If the feed is reachable, you're done — no encoder boxes, no on-site PC.
You keep the client relationship
Run streams under your own account and bill clients your way, or set up an account in their name and hand over the keys. Either way, you stay the expert they call.
Set up in minutes, not site visits
Paste the RTSP URL, copy the embed code into the client's website, and the camera is live. The network work — port forwarding, DDNS — is what you already do every day.
How it works
From site visit to live embed in one afternoon
Point the camera at OctoStream
Paste the camera or NVR's RTSP URL into the dashboard. We pull the feed on demand — H.264 and H.265 both play in any browser.
Embed the live player
Copy one embed snippet into the client's website builder, CMS, or custom HTML. Domain-locking makes sure it only plays on their site.
Sell the extras
Recording and playback, timelapse, on-air scheduling, password protection, and restreaming to YouTube or Facebook — each one is an upsell you can switch on from the dashboard.
The jobs where clients already want this
If you install cameras for any of these, you have clients who would pay for a live view on their website today.
Construction & job sites
Live progress cams and timelapse for owners and investors.
Resorts, beaches & attractions
A live view on the booking page that sells the destination.
Churches & venues
Services and events on the website, YouTube, and Facebook.
Marinas, farms & everything else
If it has an RTSP feed, you can put it on a website.
Everything you need to deliver the service

Installer questions, answered
- Do I need to install anything on site?
- No. OctoStream is fully cloud-based and pulls the camera's RTSP feed directly. The camera just needs to be reachable from the internet — a public IP, DDNS hostname, or port forward, the same setup you already do for remote viewing.
- Which cameras and recorders work?
- Any device that exposes an RTSP stream URL: Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Uniview, Amcrest, Reolink, and most other IP cameras, DVRs, and NVRs. Both H.264 and H.265 feeds play in normal browsers.
- Who bills the end client?
- Your choice. Most installers run streams under their own OctoStream account and invoice the client as part of a service plan, keeping the margin. You can also create an account in the client's name and hand it over.
- Can I test a camera before selling the service?
- Yes. Use the free RTSP stream test to preview any reachable camera in your browser in about 60 seconds — no account needed. The free plan then lets you keep one camera connected to demo to clients.
- How is this different from the NVR's remote viewing app?
- Apps like Hik-Connect are private viewing for the owner. OctoStream is public-facing: a live player embedded on the client's website that anyone can watch, with scheduling, password protection, recording, and restreaming to YouTube or Facebook on top.
- What does it cost?
- Plans start free with one camera, and paid plans start at $9.99/month. Pricing scales by cameras and bandwidth, so you can match a plan to each job and price your service on top.
